Anna Gallo Obituary

Anna R. (Cataldo) Gallo, 95, of Greystone Circle, in Worcester, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2007, in her home, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jeremiah J. Gallo, in 1971, and by a daughter, Lucille White in 1988. She leaves her daughter, Joan Gallo Masiello with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Deborah A. Masiello and her partner Byron Fraser of West Boylston, Sandra Hodgkins and her husband Ben of Boston, and Richard J. White of West Boylston; twin great granddaughters, Alicia Barnatchez of Brooklyn, New York and Allison Barnatchez of Boston; several nieces and nephews. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Francis and Lucia (Rosilio) Cataldo, and has lived here all her life.

Mrs. Gallo worked as a senior librarian assistant for Quinsigamond Community College from 1971, until her retirement in 1989. She was a life long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church. She was also a member of Order Sons of Italy America Lodge 168. She enjoyed gardening and loved animals. Anna was a special person, whose world was her family.

Her funeral will be held Monday, November 12, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to UMass-Memorial Hospice, One Biotech, 365 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
