Anna was a very gifted, talented and loving human being. One of the best ways that we can think of to remember her life and keep her in our hearts every day is to reflect on her love of some of the simplest and pleasurable gifts of life, such as nature and gardening. Gardening that would even make those from PBS’s victory garden green with envy. The beautiful flowers she planted, the stonewalls she built and the paths and steps she created throughout the gardens were exceptional.

One of her special joys was attracting birds by putting out feeders and planting the appropriate flowers to attract different species. She would take so much pleasure in watching them and knowing that they were getting the nourishment they needed to survive the harsh northeastern winters. The gardens continue to grow each year with new plants, walls and paths due to the loving care of her daughter Lucy and daughter in law Maura. In addition, Anna was an expert cook, plumber and carpenter. She even built an entire room in the basement by herself so that Lucy could have her own teenage getaway. Most of all, we will remember Anna as a very special, loving and unselfish mother and a truly good person.
