Arlene Rodgers, 86

Clinton - Arlene M. (Jackson) Rodgers, 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. She is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Manuel Rodgers. She is survived by her children and their spouses, John M. Rodgers & Cynthia of Berlin; Robert J. Rodgers & Mary of Upton; Donna M. Lee & Kerry of Clinton; David M. Rodgers & Cheryl of Littleton; Manuel Rodgers & Laura of Sterling; Barry E. Rodgers & Laura of Lancaster; and Eric V. Rodgers of Clinton; two sisters, Gail Bachini & husband Richard of Chelmsford; and Lois Stacey of Taunton; 27 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Arlene was born in Medford, daughter of Arthur & Mary (Donahue) Jackson. She graduated from Matignon High School, Class of 1952 and Fisher Junior College. In addition to raising her family, Arlene was a dedicated hard worker, employed for many years as an executive secretary for the Digital Equipment Corporation and later as a beloved bus driver for the Acton/Boxborough, Maynard, and Acton School Systems. She was a woman of great faith and devout member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton, where she filled many roles as a volunteer, notably as a CCD teacher, wedding rehearsal coordinator, treasurer for St. Vincent de Paul Society, and as a member of the Women of Mary and Daughters of Isabella. Actively involved in her community, Arlene held membership with the Red Hat Society and sang with the Montachusett Chorale. She was an avid reader, sports fan, and was always on the go. Arlene enjoyed summers in Alton Bay and was happiest in the company of her children and grandchildren. Calling hours will be held from 5 until 7PM on Thursday, August 19, 2021 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster.
