Barbara Joyce Obituary
CLINTON - Barbara A. (Cabana) Joyce, 84, formerly of West St., passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2014. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 51 years, Henry F. Joyce. She is survived by three sons, John H. Joyce & wife Darlene; Timothy K. Joyce, all of Clinton; Brian T. Joyce & wife Laurel of Sterling; 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by three sons, David P. Joyce in 1961, James B. Joyce in 1997, and David P. Joyce in 2008, and two siblings, William Cabana and Mary Forest.
Barbara was born in Leominster, attended local schools and graduated from Leominster High School. She held employment with the former Long's Clothiers and Nylacarb Corp. before ultimately retiring as a librarian from the Bigelow Free Public Library in Clinton. Barbara was an active volunteer with the Girl Scouts in Lancaster and was a member of St. John the Guardian of Our Lady Parish in Clinton. She was skilled in completing crossword puzzles, and enjoyed both reading and playing Bingo. Funeral services are to be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be from 5 until 7PM in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Online condolences may be placed at

I worked with Barbara for a number of years, she was there from the beginning when I first started. I'm going to miss spending time with her. She was always a pleasure to talk to and be around. She was a very entertaining and smart woman. It saddens me to have to say good bye, but I know she'll always be in my heart.
