Bernard Bourdeau Obituary

Bernard T. Bourdeau
Charlton - Bernard T. "Ben" Bourdeau, 71, of Burlingame Rd., passed away on Monday, Nov. 19th, 2012 in his home after a battle with cancer.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Loretta M. (Caplette) Bourdeau; a step son, James Sheehan of Daytona Beach, FL; a step daughter, Susan Cooney and her husband James of Sterling; and his grandson, Nicholas Bourdeau. His son, Michael Bourdeau, died in 2007. He was born in Webster the son of the late Sylvia (Charpentier) Bourdeau.
Ben was a construction laborer and was a member of the Construction And General Laborers Local Union No. 230 in Connecticut for many years and later was a member of the Construction And General Laborers Local Union No. 243 in Massachusetts and worked for various construction companies throughout the years, retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Singletary Rod & Gun Club in Oxford for 50 years. He was also a member of Hemlock Ridge Golf Course in Sturbridge for 23 years and loved playing in scrambles.
Ben was an extremely friendly person and was generous to his numerous friends. He was always fun loving and enjoyed life, he will be remembered and missed dearly. He enjoyed going to yard sales. He was an avid fisherman and loved teaching his grandson Nicholas how to fish. Ben had so much love for his grandson and Nick also adored his "Pépère".
Ben's family would like to thank and praise the Cancer Center at Harrington in Southbridge for their friendship and caring ways.
His funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 26th, at 11:00am in St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will be private. Calling hours in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25th, from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Nicholas Bourdeau Trust Fund, c/o Southbridge Credit Union, P.O. Box F, Southbridge, MA 01550.
