Christopher Jones Obituary

Chris was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was born in Dallas, TX on March 8, 1984 to Bob and Katie Jones. He is survived by his spouse, Jamie Leigh Jones, and his 3-year-old son, Tatum; his younger brother Andy Jones (Tara, Cooper); paternal grandfather Richard Jones; and his extended family: In-Laws Hugh and Leigh McKean, sister-in-law Taylor Rosellini (John, Emerson), brother-in-law Michael McKean (Alycia, Michael) and cherished Aunts, Uncles and Cousins of the Bryan, Jones, and McKean Families. He was predeceased by grandparents John and Mary Bryan, and Shirley Jones.

Chris played football at Unionville High School, Unionville, PA. After high school, he went on to attend Penn State University, where he was a member of ACACIA fraternity and graduated in 2006 with a degree in accounting. It was there he met his one true love, Jamie, and they married shortly after graduation. Together they started their lives in the Washington D.C. area where he worked for Marriott Hotels. They were transferred several times and enjoyed exploring many parts of the country. Each place held special memories for them both, including Nashville where their son was born. Chris worked for Loews Hotels since 2013 and moved to Dallas, TX where he became the Director of Finance at the new Live! by Loews Hotel in Arlington, TX, which opened in October 2019.

Chris lived his life to the fullest, including the highest of highs, and sometimes the lowest of lows. He had a passion for football, including his favorite teams the Dallas Cowboys and PSU Nittany Lions, loving when they won and hating when they lost. Golf was a favorite activity and something he enjoyed with his wife, his family and his friends as well as recently teaching his son the game. Traveling was a pursuit he always looked forward to and he had the chance to see some wonderful places all over the world. In his daily life, Chris loved starting his day with an early morning workout and found time over the years to pursue yoga and run four marathons.

Chris was quick with words, always had a witty comment or comeback, and liked nothing more than to laugh and make others laugh. Chris will be dearly remembered for his commitment to his son and wife, his family, his work, and his friends. We are incredibly grateful for the amazing memories we had with Chris and are deeply saddened and shocked to lose him so suddenly. Chris was always proud to have been born in Dallas, and so it seems fitting that this is where his journey on this earth ends.

There will be a private celebration of life held with family and friends on October 17, 2020.
