Claire Duquette Obituary

Claire L. Duquette, 83, of Worcester, died Sunday, March 1, 2009 in the Jewish Healthcare Center.

She leaves three brothers: George P. Duquette and his wife Bella T. of Worcester, Eugene E. Duquette and his wife Jeanne R. of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Paul E. Duquette and his wife Joan of Worcester; a sister, Lorraine M. Lemieux and her husband, Daniel H. of Millbury and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of George F. and Leona V. (Chevalier) Duquette and lived here all her life.

Miss Duquette was a Teller and Loan specialist 15 years for Bay State Savings Bank and retired in 1978. Before then, she was a cashier and then a Manager of the candy dept., 15 years for A & P Stores. She also worked in the office for the family business, Duquette Service Station, which she was associated with for many years. She was a graduate of Commerce High School.

Miss Duquette was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish, now known as Holy Family Parish. She was active in efforts to re-open the church when it was closed in the early 1990's. She was also a member of the YMCA.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 4 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, March 3 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm.

I will always remember summer cookouts with Aunt Claire! It was a joy having her as a neighbor for the last ten years. I loved her stories and never-fading smile. I will miss her so much.

I'm sorry I couldn't be there with the family to morn Aunt Claire's death, but I know that because she was such an amazing person, she is in heaven with her parents and other lost loved ones. She will always be remembered in our hearts & out memories, and her stories will passed on for generations. We will love her forever.

Hi Gene and Jeanie,
You may not remember me. I was a neighbor on Pilgrim Av and babysat for your girls.So sorry to hear of your sister's passing. I remember all of you.I spend the winters in St.Pete and go home to Worcester in May.Again, my condolences to all of you.
