Clementine "Cleo" Webber, 98

SUTTON - Clementine "Cleo" Webber, 98, a devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully after a short illness on Jan. 15, 2019, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 40 years, Frederick G. Webber, died in 1995.

She leaves her daughter and son-in law, Karen A. Webber and Jack Sheehan of Sutton; 3 grandchildren, John, Joseph, and Anna Sheehan; and numerous cousins. Cleo was born in Wilbraham on July 19, 1920, and lived there many years before moving to Sutton in 2008. She was the second child of Stanley and Anna (Szczygiel) Tumidajski. Her older sister, Stella Tumidajski, died in 2012.

Cleo attended Catholic schools and Commerce High School in Springfield, leaving during the Great Depression to find employment. She worked for many years at the F.W. Sickles Co. in Chicopee., where she met her husband. In her later years she worked in retail at the Albert Steiger Co. store in Eastfield before retiring.

She most loved taking care of her family and her home. She especially enjoyed working in her yard and could be seen with rake or broom in hand into her late 90s. She read the newspaper every day and kept a diary, recording events big and small. Cleo embraced goodness and kindness and valued family, faith, hard work and frugality. She was always generous with her time, putting the needs of others first. She was most proud of her grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be held on Fri. Jan.18 at 10am in St. Mark's Parish, Boston Rd., Sutton. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours at Jackman Funeral Home, 7 Mechanic St., Douglas will be held on Thurs. from 5-7 pm.
