David Abramowitz Obituary

David Abramowitz, 61

Worcester - David Abramowitz, age 61, died on Friday, August 24th in UMass Memorial Healthcare, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Gila (Kashi) Abramowitz; two sons, Eli Abramowitz of Worcester and Mendel Abramowitz and his wife, Menucha of Montreal; a daughter, Chaya Abramowitz of Worcester; four brothers, Solomon Abramowitz and his wife, Rivka of Brooklyn, NY, Leonard Abramowitz and his wife, Henya of Brooklyn, NY, Mayer Abramowitz and his wife, Chani of New Haven and Morris Abramowitz of Brooklyn, NY; a sister, Deanna Kohn of Lakewood, NJ; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Rebecca Ziskind.

He was born in Worcester the son of Samuel and Rose (Stolnitz) Abramowitz.

He had been a Cantor at Shaarai Torah Synagogue West and was a religious supervisor at Yeshiva Achei Timimim for many years. He had been a Mashgeeach, an active member of Worcester Chevra Kadisha and the Vaad Hakarshrus.

GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD YESTERDAY AT HOLY SOCIETY CEMETERY IN LEICESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.

Memorial Observance will be held through Thursday morning, August 30th at the family's residence. Morning and evening Minyan services will be held each day.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Yeshiva Achei Timimim, 22 Newton Avenue, Worcester, MA 01602.
