David Hadley Obituary

David W. Hadley, 70, died at his home on Charlton Street on Thursday, September 28, 2006.

Mr. Hadley is survived by his wife and best friend, Susan (Moore) Butler. He also leaves a son, David Hadley, Jr., of Worcester; daughters, Linda Harris of New Hampshire and Donna Paquette of Connecticut; sisters, Dawn G. Jorgenson of Worcester, Sandra M. Natale and Virginia McCallum, both of Leicester, and Muriel Cox, of Arlington, VA; a brother, Robert Hadley of Oxford; a stepson, Lance Corporal Mark Butler of Brookfield; stepdaughters, Anne Sanborn and Keryn Butler, both of Dudley; grandchildren, Jason, Kerri-Lynn, Kenneth, Lee, Aiden, Kyra, and Aria; and great-grandchildren, Rylie, Nicholas, and Kaleigh. He also leaves his oldest, best friends, Joseph Breen of Cotuit, MA and Vic Johnson of Florida, and his new, best friend, Rev. Peter Joyce of Southbridge. Mr. Hadley was predeceased by his son Barry Hadley, and brothers, Barry A. Hadley, John Hadley, and Richard Hadley.

Mr. Hadley was born in Worcester, son of the late John O. Hadley and Mabel (Wesson) Hadley. He lived in Worcester for most of his life where he worked as a framer and carpenter, moved to Maryland for eight years where he trained race horses at Laurel and Bowie Race Course. He returned to Massachusetts in 1983 to work as a general contractor for Gallo Construction. Mr. Hadley retired to Sturbridge in 1994 and moved to Southbridge six years ago.

Mr. Hadley is a member of St. Mary's Parish in Southbridge. He had many interests including reading, playing his guitar and writing short stories, and most of all, fishing.

Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge is handling arrangements. A Memorial Mass and gathering of his beloved friends and family will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Mary's Parish Building Fund, 263 Hamilton Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
