Devin Kravitz Obituary

Devin P. Kravitz, 22, of 311 Stafford Street, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

He leaves his father, Stuart P. Kravitz of Auburn; his mother, Janet L. King-Pierce and step-father, Christopher Pierce of Charlton; his sister, Elizabeth Kravitz of Beckly, W. VA; his maternal grandmother, Rita B. King of Leicester, his paternal great-grandparents, Abe and Lillian (Cohen) Kravitz of Worcester; aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Worcester, he graduated from Leicester High School and was attending Quinsigamond Community College studying Law Enforcement. He was planning to enter the Police Academy on Dec. 16. He held an extraordinary amount of love for his family, friends, church and the family's beloved dogs. Everyone who knew him took away a special memory all their own. Devin was "selfless", "dedicated, "something else" and "the little brother", all meaning that he was someone very special who was there for his friends and family. He possessed a very dynamic personality, one that allowed him to appreciate and value the simplest things in life such as: fresh green beans in the garden, sunrises, sunsets, rainbows, and the excitement of a snow storm. Devin enjoyed working within various trades including electrical and carpentry. He worked with his mother and step-father in taking care of the tasks involved with Indian Hill Farm. He also worked with his dad on renovating his home. An impressive feat that Devin won, was becoming a NESC expert motocross rider at the age of 17, a sport that he absolutely loved. Additionally, he spent many hours working out with "the guys" at Bay State Gym.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, Oct. 30 at 11:00 AM in Greenville Baptist Church, 684 Pleasant Street, Rochdale. Burial will follow in Greenville Baptist Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3:00-6:00 PM in MORRISON-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Devin's name to: Greenville Baptist Church, 684 Pleasant Street, Rochdale, MA 01542 for their Youth Ministries Programs. Memorial observances will be held at David & Roberta Kravitz home, 315 June Street, Worcester on Oct. 31 & Nov. 1.

Dear Stu and to Janet:
My brother Doug Knepper, has just given me the very sad news of the loss of your son. My heart goes out to you both. Although it has been many years since we have seen each other, we all were good friends at a fun time in our lives. It seems that Devin had just as much fun as we did. May you both relish in those good memories.
Sincerely,
Denise Knepper-Corcoran,

Stu and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of your incredible loss I can't imagine what you're going through. Devin had many gifts and many left untapped. Of all things you gave him was faith in the lord and he certainly has that. I will always remember watching him advance in his chosen sport by leaps and bounds and I'll always cherish that. There is a motocross track in heaven I'm told and I'm sure he'll be leading the pack around the first corner. God speed.

To the Kravitz family,
Devin wasn't just a person, he was a piece in the puzzle that represents family. There is now a hole in the puzzle. May your memories sustain you. May you remember all the fun things, all the happy times. Treasure his spirit.

We were shocked and saddened once we heard the news about Devin’s sudden death. We still have a photograph of him hanging on our wall reminding us of our joint vacations in New Hampshire and Maine. His vitality, his longing for a rich and resourceful life and his passion for exploring the boundaries of his capabilities have always fascinated us and kept him alive in our memory. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends who need to come to terms with this terrible loss. The only consolation is our faith in God’s plans of us and the assurance that Devin has been adopted to his eternal home.

The flaming red sun on an autumn morn
The faded red sun sinking down, leaving when the day is gone
The autumn leaves in their vivid red display
All quietly tell us the story today
Of the little boy with the bright red hair
Whose presence will be felt everywhere
Bold and beautiful, dawn to dusk
With the spirit swirling, dancing, laughing, in the red red leaves
Light reflecting all around, so bright, so bright
Shining, shining on

Devin,
We were not very close, but your presence was a blessing. You alway loved to be around your friends and always had a smile on your face. Just last weekend we had a talk for about 2 hours one night when we were at the Hill Crest. You were telling me how you were going back to school to study Criminal Justice at Quinsig, as I did. Also we talked about the Police Academy, where I just graduated from. You were so excited as I was excited for you. We had alot of nice talks. For your family my condolences. This is a very rough thing to go through. Stay strong, that is what Devin would have wanted.

I am so deeply sorry about Devon. We will always remember him as such a good person. He was always so friendly and caring and never had the fear of anything....Brian had good times with him over at your house, swimming, bike riding and of course just hanging around.

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time for you.
God Bless.
