Dorothy Mosessian Obituary

Dorothy "Ann" (Gosdanian) Mosessian, 85, died Thursday, September 27, 2007. She was the widow of Gerald M. Mosessian, who died in 1985. She leaves two daughters, Valerie A. Babaian and her husband Peter of Jefferson and Jean L. Mosessian of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; two grandchildren, Peter M. Babaian of Arlington and Alexis C. Babaian of Boston; a sister, Lucille Grant and her husband Courtland of Hallandale, FL; and many nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Lauren Ann Babaian, predeceased her in 1985.

Ann was born in Brookline, daughter of Nishan and Ovsanna (Yailian) Gosdanian.  She graduated from Brookline High School and was a clerk in the Worcester County Central District Clerk of Courts for 35 years. Prior to that, she worked for several years in the Massachusetts Employment Office. Ann was an active member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour where she served as a member of the choir and was the assistant choir director, its Ladies' Guild, AVAKS, and past matron of the Daughters of Vartan. She was a member of many Civil and Democratic Committees, and past PTA chairman. She was very social and family oriented and loved to bake choreg.

Funeral services will be held at the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, on Monday, Oct. 1, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Sunday, Sept. 30, from 5-8 p.m. A Dahngark Service will be held at 6:30 p.m.  The Daughters of Vartan will conduct their ritual at 6 p.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Jewish Healthcare Center, 629 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
