NORTH BROOKFIELD - Gary R. Chisholm, 79, died unexpectedly on Thursday,September 29, 2016 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge where he was transported after suffering an unexpected illness.

Gary is survived by his four children, daughter Marlene Nichols and husband Ralph of Warren, son Todd Chisholm and wife Jill of Vernon, VT., daughter Holly Chisholm of Brookfield and his daughter Kelly Chisholm of Spencer. Gary also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren with three on the way. Gary was born the son of Allen and Genevieve (Savage) Chisholm, and is one of eight brothers. He was predeceased by two brothers Kenneth of Palmer and Douglas of North Brookfield. He is survived by 5 brothers, Allen "Duke" of Sarasota, FL., Bryant "Danny" of Palmer, Melvin of North Brookfield, Donald of Sarasota, FL, and Robert of Oxford, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A proud resident of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, where he was born and raised, and later raised his own family, Gary was an avid hunter and sportsman. The autumn being his favorite season, Gary could be found in the woods of Vermont and Massachusetts following his passion and doing what he loved most, hunting. Gary also enjoyed his children and grandchildren immensely. He could be found on nearly every Tuesday at his daughter Kelly's place of business, "Finally Kelly's" Spa and Salon on Main St. in Spencer, socializing with the clients and enjoying his morning coffee. Gary will forever be a source of quiet strength for all of his loved ones. Having left us so suddenly, it can only be said that the most painful goodbyes are those that go unsaid.

Friends and family are invited to attend a calling hour on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 AM in Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield. The funeral will follow with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St.Josephs Church, 296 N.Main St., North Brookfield. Burial will be private in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery in West Brookfield. I lost my father a year ago and Kelly was so supportive. we often discuss how much we love our parents and want to spend more time with them.
