George A. DeWolfe, Sr., 85

GRAFTON - George A. DeWolfe, Sr., 85, died on Saturday, October 24, 2015, with his loving family at his side in UMass Memorial Hospital, University Campus, Worcester, after he was stricken ill at his home in North Grafton.

His wife of 44 years, Roberta E. (Jacobs) DeWolfe, died in 1998. He leaves three children: George A. DeWolfe, Jr., and his wife, Kay E. (Rand) DeWolfe, of Millbury, Roberta A. Marsden and her husband, Michael J. Marsden, of Uxbridge, and Patricia A. Cimochowski and her husband, Stanley Cimochowski, of North Grafton; seven grandchildren: Michael Crete, Lieut. Steven Marsden, USN, Kaila Marsden, Butchie Cimochowski, Stacia Cimochowski, Kimberly DeWolfe, and David DeWolfe; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Evans of Aberdeen, WA; a brother, Russell DeWolfe of Freeman, CA; and nieces and nephews.

Mr. DeWolfe was born in Milford, MA, on January 21, 1930, a son of the late Willis A. and Lois M. (Wentzell) DeWolfe, and was raised in Upton. He attended Upton High School and was a US Army Korean War veteran, serving in Korea with the 40th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He was honorably discharged in 1956.

Mr. DeWolfe was a land surveyor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for many years. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and enjoyed vegetable gardening, fishing, hunting, reading (especially history), football pools, and spending time with his friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 7, in Vernon Grove Cemetery, 100 Depot St., Milford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests contributions to Disabled American Veterans, Memorial Donations, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 (www.dav.org).

Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, is assisting his family with the arrangements.
