George Thomas Obituary
Millbury - George Thomas, of Millbury passed away surrounded by his loving family, Monday, October 5th 2015. He was 87 years of age.
George was born in Worcester, one of four sons of George and Eva (Raad) Thomas. He grew up in Mendon, graduated from St Mary's Academy in Milford and has lived in Millbury since 1956.
George is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jane (Bates) Thomas; his four children, George Thomas and his wife Jackie of Palm Beach Florida, Douglas Thomas and his wife Diane of Leicester, Elizabeth Porter and her husband David of Northborough and Bradley Thomas of West Millbury. George also leaves seven grandchildren he adored; 5 great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Three brothers, Raymond, Ernest and Walter Thomas pre deceased him.
George worked in the merchandising industry all his life. He managed the former Kennedy's and Wallach's department stores in Worcester before retiring .
George was a member of the Worcester Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Worcester. George enjoyed Boating and all sports.
Private graveside services celebrating his life were held in Howard Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the Joslin Diabetes Foundation, 1 Joslin Place, Boston Mass. 02215. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St Worcester is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

I am saddened to read of George's passing! I worked at Wallach's with George in the late 70's, and there was no finer gentleman, and mentor than George Thomas!
He will be missed by many, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, my freind!
