Gerald S. LaFleur

CHARLTON - Gerald S. "Jerry" LaFleur, 89, of Charlton passed away Fri. May 11, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. He was the husband of the late Gertrude T. "Trudy" (Opperwall) LaFleur who died in 2004.

Mr. LaFleur owned and operated LaFleur Electrical Co. in Auburn for many years. His son, Steven, continued the business and is now President of LaFleur Electrical Co. which has been in business for 62 years. Jerry continued to work with his son as an estimator.

Jerry was born Dec. 29, 1928 in Northbridge the son of the late Sidney and Nina (Youngsma) LaFleur. He was a resident of Worcester before moving to Charlton in 1974. Jerry was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1945 and earned his Associates Degree from Franklin Technical School, Boston, Class of 1948.

Mr. LaFleur was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean War Era.

Mr. LaFleur was Past President of the Auburn Rotary Club and an active and founding member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn. He enjoyed traveling across the USA with his wife Trudy in their RV visiting friends and relatives.

Mr. LaFleur is survived by three sons, Steven J. LaFleur of Millbury, Eric S. and his wife Kimberly LaFleur of Woodstock, CT, Kerry J. LaFleur of Charlton, one daughter, Rebecca A. Draper and her husband Brad of San Diego, CA, his sister, Elveena Kostelyk of IN, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, G. Kurt LaFleur.

A memorial service will be held Thurs. May 17, 2018 at 11 AM in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 92 Bryn Mawr Ave., Auburn, MA 01501 followed by a reception at the 200 Sportsmans Club, 184 Sutton Rd., Webster.

Burial will be private in the West Ridge Cemetery, Charlton.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Buma Funeral Home, Whitinsville.
