Gloria Karpawich Obituary

Gloria A. (Pruitt) Karpawich, 69

Auburn - Gloria A. (Pruitt) Karpawich, 69, of Auburn, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 8 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Gloria is survived by her husband of 29 years, Paul A. Karpawich; a son, Jean-Paul Brouillette and his wife Wendy of Auburn; a step son, Paul Karpawich and his wife Kirsty of New Hampshire; a sister, Denise Crockett of Worcester; two brothers, James Pruitt Jr. of North Carolina and Michael Pruitt of Auburn; 3 grandchildren, Cooper Brouillette, Max Karpawich and Alex Karpawich as well as many nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Karpawich was born in Worcester, daughter of the late James Pruitt Sr. and Catherine (Paladino) Pruitt and is also predeceased by a brother, Thomas Pruitt and a sister, CarolAnn Cassie.

She worked for over 15 years as a school bus driver with the City of Worcester Public Schools and later worked as a home health aide.

Gloria enjoyed doing crossword puzzles but truly was happiest when she was traveling to various beaches throughout New England and attending festivals and yard sales with her husband. Mrs. Karpawich loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren. Gloria took great happiness out of the fact that she was able to help and assist with the family get togethers.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the St. Vincent Medical Staff, Dr. Catherine O'Grady, the VNA Nurses, Fairlawn Rehabilitation and Rite Aid Pharmacy for the care and support that was shown to Gloria.

A calling hour will be held on Monday, April 17 from 11 to 12 in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a funeral service to be held at 12 noon.
