Haskell D. Morin

Haskell D. Morin, 74, died Sat., Dec. 17th in UMass/Memorial Healthcare after a brief illness.

He leaves his loving wife of 43 years, Geneva (Morrow) Morin; a son, Joseph Morin and his wife Tanya; three daughters: Deborah wife of James Tracy, Robin wife of David Pierce, Rhonda wife of Kenneth Godwin; a brother, Dr. Edward M. Morin; 13 beloved grandchildren and 10 cherished great grandchildren.

He was born in Worcester, a son of Joseph and Bessie (Goldstein) Morin. He was a U.S Army veteran, President of the Midland Home Improvement Contracting Co. and managed his numerous properties in Worcester. He was a former resident of the Coldbrook Country Club in Barre for many years. Haskell was a familiar sight for many years, cleaning and sprucing up the many Veterans Memorials in and around Worcester, especially at Newton Square and its many flower buckets. He was a past President of the Century Village Condo Association in West Palm Beach and a long time member of the board of directors of Century Village's United Civic Organization where he spent 7 months each winter. He was singled out for his devoting of 3 to 4 hours a week picking up roadside trash at his adopted section of Haverill Road around his century village home by the Palm Beach Post. When not in Florida, Haskell divided his time between his homes in Worcester and Marshfield. He was one of the original candidates for the former Worcester Charter Commission and was actively involved for many years in the Worcester Property Owners Association. Haskell's favorite pastimes were tending his tomato garden, mowing lawns, riding his bike and watching his all time favorite TV show Jeopardy. Haskell was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends alike. To have known Haskell was to have known a good friend. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be deeply missed by all.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on THURSDAY, DECEMBER 22ND in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in B'Nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial observance will be held at his residence of 48 Midland St., Worcester through Thursday evening.
