Homer A. "Chuck" Carbonneau, 96

Worcester - Homer A. "Chuck" Carbonneau, 96, of Worcester, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, December 12th, 2020 with his family by his side.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred (Richard) Carbonneau; his three children, Gail (Barry) Holtz of Fairport, NY, Joseph (Sandra) Carbonneau III, and Steven (Michelle) Carbonneau of Hopkinton Ma. He is further survived by his three sisters, Theresa Maillet of Millbury, MA, Jean Peare of Millbury, MA and Lorraine Bourassa of Florida; a brother, Joseph Carbonneau Jr. of Worcester; 5 grandchildren, Tara (Mitch) Bracker, Joseph (Carolyn) Carbonneau IV, Erik Holtz, Amanda Carbonneau and Lucas Carbonneau: 3 great grandchildren, Joseph Carbonneau V, Madelyn Carbonneau and Saylor Mae Bracker. He also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Carbonneau was born in Worcester, son of the late Joseph F. Carbonneau Sr. and Marie Anna (Poitras) Carbonneau and is predeceased by a grandchild, Lindsay Holtz and three brothers, Ernest, Herve and Lionel Carbonneau.

Chuck was a proud United States Army Veteran and served during World War II as a Technical Sergeant. He received several medals and was honorably discharged after three years. A few years ago, Homer was gifted with an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. It was a sobering and memorable experience never to be forgotten by this member of The Greatest Generation.

Chuck attended Commerce High School, Worcester and graduated from Worcester School of Business Sciences with a degree in Business Administration. He also attended several certificate programs at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. Mr.Carbonneau married his wife Mildred in 1950 and spend 70 years enjoying his time with the family that he and his wife were blessed to raise. He especially enjoyed spending summers in North Hampton, NH and winters at their home in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Mr. Carbonneau worked as a claims adjuster for General Adjustment Bureau for most of his career and retired in 1986. He opened Carbonneau Associates in 1988 and continued to work in the Insurance business as a Public Adjuster until he released the reigns to his son Joe in 1990.

Mr. Carbonneau thoroughly enjoyed all types of fitness activities and after 50 years of membership, received a lifelong membership award from the Greendale YMCA. He also was a member of Greendale Retired Men's Club, played tennis in leagues at the Holden Tennis Club, loved riding his bike and was an avid golfer. Chuck always enjoyed making friends and sharing his time and knowledge with others.

Chuck battled Alzheimer's disease for the past 5 yrs with dignity. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to The Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, Ma. 02452.

Private funeral services will be held Tuesday at Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond Street. Worcester. Burial with military honors will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA
