Hugo Orrizzi Obituary

Hugo Orrizzi, 89, of Shrewsbury, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 in The Meadows of Leicester after an illness.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Julia M. (Cilia) Orrizzi; three children; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Orrizzi was a life-long resident of Shrewsbury. Hugo along with his brothers, Guido and Orlando, Jr., and sister, Inez where the owners of the former Orlando's Market in Shrewsbury for many years.

There are no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private.

My condolences to the Orrizzi family. What a great guy. I loved going to Orlandos. Hugo always remembered the names of all my sisters and brothers. I have so many fond memories of him, your family and all our mutual friends of that generation.

Eddy, Cilia, Jack, abbiamo saputo leggendo il Telegram on the net, che Hugo ci ha lasciati. Ci dispiace molto, lo ricordiamo sempre sorridente, allegro e gentile. Sono molti anni che non lo vedevamo, forse più di 18. Mi ricordo quando è venuto in Italia nell'83, quando Eddy si é sposato: amava la Taverna, e la festa del matrimonio gli è piaciuta moltissimo, specialmente il giorno dopo!!! Un altro ricordo è stato quello del tacchino che ci ha preparato per Thanksgiving nel 1984.... il più grosso tacchino mai visto, non ci stava nel lavandino; ma un huge lavandino americano, non italiano. Hugo grande anche come cuoco! Un abbraccio forte a Eddy e alla sua famiglia per ricordare un grande Hugo!
