James Nicholas Obituary

James A. "Jimmy" Nicholas, 68, of 545 Salisbury Street, formerly 14 Alvarado Ave. passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, in the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with family by his side.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted family. His mother, Olga (Sthika) Nicholas with whom he lived; a sister, Joan C. Smith widow of Ralph D. Smith of Paxton; a brother, Robert S. Nicholas and his wife Judy; a niece, Angela E. Nicholas and a nephew Robert L. Nicholas all of Southboro. He was born in Worcester; his father was the late Louis W. Nicholas and has lived here all his life. Jimmy worked many years for the Seven Hills Developmental center in Worcester.

James was a member and former Alter boy of St. Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church. He loved the Red Sox and listening to music.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 30th from 9:30 to 11:00 in the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave. 01606. The family of James Nicholas would like to thank the Staff of Holy Trinity for the compassion and care that Jimmy received while he was there. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

May his memory be eternal! I am sorry I did not find out about Jimmy's passing until much later - I regret not being part of his funeral service. May God rest his soul in the bosom of Abraham.
