Jerry Morgan Obituary

Jerry Morgan, 89

West Boylston - Jerry died at the Knollwood Nursing center on Thursday, April 7th 2016 following several years of progressive dementia.

Margery Anne Becker was born in NYC on January 20th l927. Her parents were Harriet D. and William Merrill Becker. She grew up in Forest Hills NY and attended PS101 and the Kew Forest School.

During Christmas vacation at Lake Placid NY soon after Pearl Harbor she met Peter S Morgan, who never let go of the relationship which blossomed into marriage on June 7th, 1947 following Peter's service in WWII She had completed three years at Mount Holyoke College.

They have five children: Peter S. Jr., Merrill Anne, Gail Maynard, Carol Hill and Jane Becker; all of whom have brought their parents joy and blessings throughout their lives. They have eight grandchildren and two greats as well.

Jerry became an outstanding parent to her devoted children. She participated in church and community as well. The Worcester Art Museum and the Herb Society became her favorite pastimes. With Peter she endured seemingly endless adventures in their brass-bound Model T Ford. Later she shared ocean cruises to many foreign lands. And then, dementia stepped in to limit and later to terminate any outings.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Salem Covenant Church on East Mountain Street in Worcester on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 at 11am. A catered collation will follow.

Please no flowers. Gifts to honor Jerry will be most welcome at the Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury St. Worcester MA 01609, or the New England Unit of the Herb Society of America, 149 Glezen Lane, Wayland MA 01778. Arrangements in the care of Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street.
