Karen Jellesma Obituary
Douglas - Karen J. Jellesma, 53, was called to our lord on April 5, 2016. Born in Worcester, MA on Jan. 30, 1963 she was the youngest and arguably most spirited of 7 children.
She is survived by spouse Jack Velie, her parents Edward and Pauline (Cupka) Rutana; siblings Brenda, Brian, David, Deborah, Jane, and Wendy; children Lacie, Matthew, Milissa and husband Ryan and future grandchild Bodhi; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and her pets Simon and Chickie.
She parted from us at peace and in the comfort of her own home surrounded by those who loved her most. She fought like a warrior through her long battle with liver disease defying modern medicine to the very end with her head held high and a smile never forgotten.
Her memorial Mass will be held on Mon. May 2 at 8:30 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville.to make donations and assist the family with Karen's medical obligations please visit www.gofundme.com/sp4s65n. While knowing in my heart that you are at peace now and not suffering, I can't stop thinking what you would be doing today if you were here. Mother's Day was bittersweet as I thought of your beautiful children, Spring is here and you would be gardening. I miss you, we all miss you. But we go on, some days just going through the motions. I look at my family pictures or the print you gave us at Christmas of the five sisters. They feel broken now because you aren't here. Maybe I should just draw a halo around your head, because you are our angel now. Bless us who suffer, bless you for earning your wings.

Karen and I met through Etsy and became such good 'virtual' friends. We saw so many things the same way and enjoyed each other's take on any situation. Although I will miss her so much, I'm grateful that she is at peace and free of pain.

Although I never met Karen in person, she was a wonderful friend who I treasured. I'm so sorry for the family's loss. I'll think of Karen often. It's comforting to know that she's no longer in pain. I pray that she's in heaven enjoying the music of angels.
