Leonard Nadeau Obituary

Leonard "Lenny" Nadeau, 62, of 31 Brandes Street, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 19, at the Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester, with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 37 years, Margaret "Peg" (Mulligan) Nadeau; his daughter, Amy Lee and her husband Jason of Gorham, ME; his son, Jim Nadeau and his wife Heather of North Grafton, MA; his father, Lionel "Smitty" Nadeau of Webster; his sister, Carol Olsta and her husband Peter of Valatie, NY; his sister, Diane Yazwinski and her husband John of Yarmouth, ME; his brother, Gerry Nadeau of Webster, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He also leaves the greatest loves of his life, his four grandchildren, Maya and Aidan Lee and Abigail and Katherine Nadeau.

He was born in Webster, MA, the son of Lionel "Smitty" Nadeau and the late Jacqueline (Rheaume). He attended St. Anne School in Webster, graduated from Bartlett High School in 1965 and received a BS from Nichols College in 1970. He worked most of his life in sales in the roofing and construction industries. He was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church and adorer at the Emmaus Center from its inception until his illness. He was an active member of the Webster Elks for many years and was awarded "Elk of the Month" several times as well as "Elk of the Year" for his service. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Red Sox and Patriots. He loved to travel with his wife and friends. But his greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 23 from Bartel Funeral Home & Chapel, 33 Schofield Ave., Dudley, with a Mass at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St., Webster.
