Louise A. Yeo

WHITINSVILLE - Louise A. (Houghton) Yeo, 80, died Monday, November 25, following a brief illness. Her husband, Rensforth W. Yeo, died in 2012. She is survived by her sons Ronald W. Mongeau of Whitinsville and Robert F. Morin, Jr. of Grafton; her daughters, Claudette L. Hudson of Crestview, FLA and Shirley A. Grilli of Whitinsville; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Baker of Hoosick Falls, NY. She was predeceased by a grandson and her sisters Shirley A. Gonynor and Nancy J. Cousins.

Mrs. Yeo was born October 25, 1933 in Northbridge, a daughter of James E. and Blanche (Gauvin) Houghton. She lived in Uxbridge as a young child, but lived most of her life in Whitinsville, attended Northbridge High School and was a champion swimmer at the Whitin Community Center. She worked at the Whitin Machine Works, the Worcester Telegram and Gazette and at Northbridge High School as a school aide, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed reading, loved the beach, swimming and sitting in the sun. Mrs. Yeo was a member of the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville for more than 50 years and sang in the choir for many of those years.

Calling Hours are Friday, November 29, from 5-7pm in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville. Mrs. Yeo's funeral is Saturday, November 30 at 11am at the Village Congregational Church, 5 Church St., Whitinsville. Burial will be at a later date. Dear Shirley and Family:
So sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I can both sympathize and empathize having experienced a lot of loss. I will always remember Shirley's Mom as a strong willed and funny woman. I think of her with a smile shopping and going out to dinner with Shirley. May you always cherish those memories.
