Lynne Maloney Obituary
SHREWSBURY - Lynne M. (Whitney) Maloney, 70 of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at St. Vincent's Hospital.
Lynne was born in Milford, MA., a daughter of the late William C. and Muriel A. (Jones) Whitney, Jr. She was a graduate of Westborough High School and later received her nursing degree from Quinsigamond Community College. Lynne worked as a registered nurse for Worcester State Hospital for over 35 years before her retirement.
Lynne was a resident of Shrewsbury on Lake Quinsigamond for over 40 years where she enjoyed her home, reading a good book on the dock and spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh, have fun, walking her dog and the Boston Red Sox.
Lynne is survived by her son, Jason Maloney and his fiancé Patricia Jo Davis with whom she lived; a brother, Richard Whitney of Indiana; two beloved grandchildren, Sierra Lynne and Curtis David Joseph Maloney; her former husband, Gerald Maloney of Florida; a close friend, Jay Ricciardi; many nieces and nephews. Lynne is predeceased by a son, David Maloney in 1995 and a brother, David P. Whitney.
A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 18th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. Flowers are welcome.

Jason and family, I worked with Lynne at WSH 1989 - 1995 when she retired, she sought me out of a meeting to tell me she was retiring, that it was her last day at WSH. I told her I would always beep and wave when riding by her house in my boat, just in case it was her sitting out there and this past Friday I did just that...But
it was at my own retirement party last night that I unfortunately learned of Lynne's passing, I loved Lynne, a woman who handled alot, tried her best, always an honest person. I feel fortunate and very glad to know her. She loved her family and friends so much! RIP Lynn.

You were/are a great wonderful inspiration to me and am sure to many other women! U lived a great ideal special and simple life which makes u so fabulous to me. I know we didn't see eye to eye all the time also know we loved and cherished the exact same things in life nothing special but give our hearts out to the ones needed it the most and never turn away from them!! I FLIPPING LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND HOPED/PRAYED FOR YOU TO COME BACK HOME. It's been crazy and so different without your presences and wonderful laugh. You left without me being able to say goodbye and it sucks I really thought u were coming home but u got called to a much better home and I'm getting to be okay with that. I just pray and hope to our lovingly father I can make you proud finally sure in the hell going to try!!! I MISS AND LOVE YOU MORE THAN EVER AND IT'S NEVER GOING TO BE THE SAME HERE ON THE LAKE WITHOUT YOU!! REST IN PEACE AND BE HAPPY WITH YOUR SON,BROTHER AND PARENTS.
