Madeline Nagy Obituary

Madeline C. Nagy, 92

WORCESTER - Madeline C. (Lacier) Nagy, 92, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 27, 1921. She was the daughter of Anna and James Lacier and has lived in Worcester since 1974. Her husband of 44 years, Michael Nagy, passed away in 1988.

She leaves three children, Michael and his wife Dianne Nagy, Alan T. and his wife Dina Nagy, and Madeline A. and her husband Thomas Porter; five grandchildren: Shawn Porter, Kelly Porter, Jennifer Renna, Meredith Lapati, Jason Nagy, Allison Nagy and Jessica Nagy; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Madeline graduated from high school in Brooklyn, NY and worked for various companies in New York, New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts. She retired from the former Smith Valve Company of Westborough. After retirement she was an active volunteer for RSVP and was honored with a Silver Star Award for her work with the organization.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 2PM at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church located at 695 Southbridge St. Worcester, MA. There are no calling hours. A reception will be held in the church hall after the service.

The family would like to thank the staff of St. Francis and Christopher Heights for the care and comfort they helped to provide our mother.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local food bank.
