Marilyn A. Pietrowicz

Worcester/Yarmouth - Marilyn A. "Lyn" Pietrowicz, 74, of Worcester and formerly of South Yarmouth, died peacefully Saturday, February 25, 2017.

Marilyn was born in Worcester, daughter of Clarence Bonin and Angelina (Marcello) Bonin Ruggerio. She lived in Worcester until 2001 when she and her husband retired to their home on Cape Cod. She graduated from Commerce High in 1960.

Marilyn leaves her children; a daughter, Karen Gagliastre and her husband Joseph of Worcester; a son, David Pietrowicz and his wife Maria of Worcester; five grandchildren, Jessica and Nathan Pietrowicz, Erin Murphy and her husband Sean; Erica and Nicole Gagliastre; one great grandson, Flynn Murphy. Her beloved husband of 51 years, Anthony "Tony" Pietrowicz died in June of 2013. Her brother Ron Bonin predeceased her.

Marilyn enjoyed her many flower gardens and was a former member of the Yarmouth Garden Club. She was an avid bird watcher, but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed making crafts and was an accomplished artist. The hand painted tole Christmas stockings she made will be cherished by all of her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed boating and travelling with her husband in their motorhome to the Midwest, Florida, Myrtle Beach and Canada. Her grandchildren will always remember their getaways with Nana to the "Cape House", picking pumpkins in Sandwich, collecting shells from the beach, and decorating their own unique birthday cakes. Nana, we love you big, big!

The family would like to thank the entire staff and all of residents at Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living for all of their love and support. A special thanks to Bea and the Harmony staff for their devotion and care, giving us a special gift of time with her during this past year.

Calling hours are Tuesday, February 28 from 10 am to 12 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
