Mary O'Donnell Obituary

Mary M. (Mortimer) O'Donnell, 84, of 309 Church St., died on Friday, April 13, 2007 at the Life Care Center of Leominster after being stricken ill. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Edward O'Donnell who died in 2000. She is survived by a son, Edward J. O'Donnell and his wife Catherine of Leominster, a sister, Kathryn Mortimer of Clinton, a granddaughter, Leslie O'Donnell of Leominster, and two great-grandsons, Shawn and Jason Gorham also of Leominster. Mary was born in Clinton to the late John and Nora (McNamara) Mortimer and attended local schools. She was employed for thirty five years as an inspector with the former Colonial Press in Clinton until its closing. Mrs. O'Donnell was a devout Catholic and lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Clinton. Throughout her lifetime, she enjoyed extensive travel to Ireland with her husband and took pleasure in Irish music, culture, and reading. Funeral services are to be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 from the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on Monday, April 16, 2007 from 5 until 8PM.
