Dear Helen,
I am sorry for the loss of your brother. Though it was only a short time that I knew him, I came to know a gentle, honest, and humorous loving man. It was an honor to be a part of your lives during this time.

Dear Helen, we are very sorry to hear of your brother’s passing. We all have wonderful memories of Fr. Gilbert’s presence at Notre Dame in Southbridge. His leadership, spiritual influence, compassion, dedication and kindness were all part of his legacy. In 1994, Fr. Gilbert led my mom’s (Albina Corriveau Lafleche) funeral mass and shared a wonderful eulogy that we will never forget. His impact on our parish and community has had a profound influence spanning many, many years. We are all blessed to have known Fr. Gilbert and will keep him close in our prayers and memories. Sincerely, David LaFleche & Family

Fr. Gilbert was a wonderful person.
He did hidden acts of kindness.
I remember seeing him helf a homeless person in a bitter cold snow storm, not knowing that someone, me could see him.
May you rest in peace. Your kindness to me was sunshine during very difficult times.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies for the loss of your dear brother. He will be greatly missed.
He was a priest at our parish in So. Grafton when I was a teenager on the journey of making my confirmation. I always enjoyed his sermons, especially when he always added the phrase, "ey". He had a very contagious smile and I will always remember him that way.
May God give you the strength to deal with your great loss and may you rely on all your beautiful memories of him.
He is now on his greatest journey of all, to the kingdom of our heavenly Father. God bless you

My wife and I were fortunate enough to have been married by Father Gilbert at St. Joseph's Church in Worcester almost 26 years ago. He was a very kind man, and in a funny but loving and caring way, helped my wife and I understand the true meaning of marriage and the hard work that goes into making it work. We faithfully received a Christmas card from him every year since then, that's how thoughtful of a man he was. May God bless him and his soul.

Father Maurice Gilbert was my classmate at Assumption Prep and Assumption College - always a good and gentle man. He was also a dedicated, faithful, and caring priest. May his soul rest in the loving embrace of our God. Father Andre Dargis, Scottsdale, AZ

My nephew and godson, Mark, was privileged to know Father Gilbert and his family and witness how faithfully and lovingly they faced his illness and approaching death.
I know how much he appreciated the generosity with which they shared their experience and I am so grateful for such extraordinary kindness in advancing his medical education.
Thank you.

I sat in front of Maurice in the study hall at Assumption Prep when I was a senior and he was a junior. He was serious in study hall, but would always laugh when I was clowning around, and that was very often. My condolences to the family.
