Michael T. Zoto, 57
HYANNIS - Michael T. Zoto, 57, died at home August 24, 2013 after a lengthy illness. Born in Istanbul Turkey, he came to the U.S. in 1966 at the age of 11, settling in Worcester. He completed his education at the Boy's Trade High School and became an auto mechanic. He owned and operated gas station repair shops in Worcester and Auburn. He met his wife Jean in their childhood neighborhood during high school and they were married in 1977. They relocated to Winchendon in 1990 and later to Hyannis in 1995 where he took a job as Service Manager at Puritan Pontiac. During the course of his career, he worked in many auto dealerships including, Gallo Oldsmobile, Rick Starr, Miskinis Motors, and Orleans Toyota.
Michael's passions in life included cars, fishing, beer, the New England Patriots and later in life, photography, especially seascapes of Cape Cod.
He was an extremely likeable person with a wonderful sense of humor who enjoyed helping anyone he could. Mike Z was the man.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean with whom he enjoyed 23 years of marriage as well as his brother Arthur. He leaves his father, Angelo and son Daniel, both of Hyannis, a nephew Christopher Zoto of Worcester and a cousin Dimitri Zafiroglu of Delaware.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday August 30, 2013 from 5-7:30 p.m at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home, 160 W. Main St. Hyannis. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m on Friday. Interment will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to VNA Hospice & Palliative Care 434 Route 134 Suite G-1 S. Dennis, MA 02660
