Nancy A. Makela

Nancy A. (Thibodeau) Makela, 62, of Whitinsville died Sat., Sept. 25, 2010 after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, David Makela Sr.; 2 sons, David Makela and his fiance' Kari Woeller and Daniel Makela of Whitinsville; a daughter, Sara (Makela) Fortier of Whitinsville; 3 brothers, Robert Thibodeau of PA, Richard Thibodeau of Gardner and Daniel and his wife Sandy Thibodeau of Winchendon; 5 sisters, Anne Tibbets and her husband Ralph of New Ipswich, NH, Mary Kirby and her husband Don of Hubbardston, Kathy Ouellette of Royalston, Cece Thibodeau of Winchendon, and Elizabeth Ricord and her husband Mike of Winchendon; and 8 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother-in-law, Dennis Ouellette and her nephew Andrew Thibodeau. Born in Worcester on Feb. 3, 1948 she was the daughter of Percy and Mary (Calcia) Thibodeau and lived in Whitinsville since 1986.

Nancy worked as a Nurses Aide at Beaumont Nursing & Rehab. Ctr. in Northbridge 17 years, retiring in 2003. She was a longtime member of the Uxbridge Church of the Nazarene. Nancy enjoyed horseback riding and loved cooking, baking, antiques, attending church, and especially being with her family.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene, 130 Douglas St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Linwood Ave., Whitinsville. Calling hours at Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge are Mon., Sept. 27 from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation of MA, 390 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608.
