Tracey, George and the Hathaway family. I was shocked to hear that little "Nat" had passed. I can remember him as a young boy at Emmanuel Baptist Church.. He did have an infectious smile and demeanor. It was good to see that he did so well in the Military. I know he made you all proud. Please know that God, in His infamous wisdom is in control of every situation and He knows what is best. May you find peace in the God who gives perfect peace during this time...

Dear George and Laura,

I never had the pleasure of meeting Nathaniel. What I learned about him today, is tragically the result of his sudden and untimely death.
From his obituary, and the words of friends and colleagues who not only knew him, but loved him, I am certain that “not knowing him” was my unfortunate loss.

I have stared at his photo and imagined: the exemplary Sailor, winner of countless medals and ribbons, friend to those who served with him, brother to Ryan, Charnessa, and Charnele, husband to Temeka , father to Nathan and Latham, and son to our friend George and wife Laura.

We received a phone call this morning, from our son, informing us of the unthinkable news he had received about his dear friend George’s, son, Nate. He was noticeably upset. He knew the news would have an immediate effect on us as well. We have only been in George’s company a couple of times, but as I read Nate’s obituary, and the comments his friends wrote about him, my thought was: “Of course he was a wonderful, successful, loyal, loving and ambitious,
.He was George’s Son.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are so sorry,

There are times that we'll eventually depart this world but Nate's departure was too soon and sudden. I'm really torn apart because I lost a shipmate, a teammate and most of all, a good friend. Nate, May you find peace on the other side, I'll never forget you.

This still does not feel real that Nate is no longer with us. I was so thrilled to recently reconnect with you after so many years. You were to me like the son I never had. You fit so well into my family, and my daughters always considered you more than just a friend. All those times running through the house, making non-stop noise. I can still hear that hearty laugh. I missed those years. Nate plesae RIP and know that you will never be forgotten.
