Nirmal Anand Obituary
Shrewsbury - On Friday August 9th in the late evening, Mrs. Nirmal K. Anand passed away surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Raj K. Anand, her three children, Leena, Shami, and Rakesh, and her five grandchildren, Aneeka, Nisha, Saarik, Curran, and Sonia. She was deeply spiritual and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. To her family, she was the purest symbol of love, giving, and warmth that they could ever know, and will live on inside each of them forever. She had the gift of being able to touch people -- through her caring, forgiveness, acceptance, support, encouragement, and joyful and carefree manner, among other things -- and brought happiness to so many. She was a truly beautiful person.
Calling Hours for Nirmal will be on Monday, August 12th, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A cremation ceremony will be on Tuesday, August 13th, at 10 a.m. in Rural Cemetery and Crematory, 180 Grove St, Worcester.
Her family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 17th at Cyprian Keys, 284 E Temple St, Boylston from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Dear Dr. Anand, family, and friends,
Our deepest sympathies to you on the passing of your beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Nirmal was always very sweet, kind, friendly, caring, and compassionate. She always asked how we were and always looked on the positive side of life. I enjoyed hearing how devoted she was to her husband and family. She loved to cook and to travel. I often heard her pray and sing while she was doing her water exercises at the YWCA pool. I'm very surprised and sad to hear of her passing. I will miss her very much. May her love for you live on in your hearts always.

Nirmal left a lasting impression as I thought of her often over the years. She was a kind, dear person who left this world too soon.
