Paricia Santoro Obituary

Patricia A. "Trish" (McNally) Santoro, 82, passed away Wednesday September 10, 2008, in the Leominster home of her daughter and son-in-law, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Santoro was predeceased by her husband, Arthur D. Santoro, Sr.

She is survived by four daughters and their spouses: Maryellen and Eugene Meehan of Allendale, NJ, Elizabeth and Richard Lombard of Orange, Susan and Thomas Hazzard of Leominster, and Jane and David Alessandrini of Sterling; three sons and their spouses: John and Patricia Santoro of Sterling, Arthur Santoro, Jr. of Clinton and James and Anne Santoro of Fall River; nineteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers: Paul McNally of Hopkinton, John McNally of Colorado, and James McNally of Clinton; one sister Ellen Donohue of Holyoke; several nieces and nephews. A sister, Mary Elizabeth "Bibbers" McNally predeceased her.

She was born on October 29, 1925 in Clinton, the daughter of John J. and Helen M. (Devaney) McNally. She graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1943, and Becker College, Worcester.

Mrs. Santoro was very proud of her Irish heritage and her hometown of Clinton. For 49 years, she proudly served customers and friends at the family-owned Old Timer Restaurant. For four consecutive years, she was voted "Best Waitress" in Clinton.

She was an active, life-long member of Saint John the Evangelist Church.

She lived for the enjoyment and education of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and shared a special relationship with each and every one of them. She was fondly referred to as "Nan" by her grandchildren and as "Lucky Grandmother" by her great-grandchildren.

An avid bingo player, she loved Irish music and lived to spend time with family and friends. She also enjoyed exercising with her friends, as part of a group known as the "Silver Sneakers".

She will be remembered for her smile, generous heart and quick wit.

Mrs. Santoro's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., with a Mass at 12:00 noon in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Lancaster. All are invited to visit with her family on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or donations may be made in her memory to Beacon of Hope, 62 West St., Leominster, MA 01453, or Diversified VNA Hospice, 25 Tucker Dr., Leominster, 01453.
