Patricia Healey Obituary
Halifax, Nova Scotia - Patti passed away on September 23, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Born on February 27th, 1951 in Newton, MA to Priscilla (Nagle) and Paul V. Healey, Patti grew up in Canton and went to Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia to study Philosophy and Education. There she met and married Tim Trask, her adoring husband of 43 years. Teaching school was her vocation, which she pursued in Chetwynd, British Columbia and Sambro, Nova Scotia, but libraries were her passion. She earned her Masters in Library Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, concluding her career as the teacher/librarian at Prince Andrew High School in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
Patti is already missed by her children, Sarah H. Trask and Ben H. Trask (Sarah (Burgwin) Trask), grandchildren, Maya Michele Cluett and Frances Emma Trask, sisters, Christine Healey (Chip Poutasse) of Concord, Johanna Healey of Canton, Jill Healey (Jim Stark) of Tigard, OR, Paula Healey (Brian Milburn) of Clinton, and Rebecca Healey (Alex Mak) of Canton, as well as brother John Healey (Katie) of Canton. Another brother, Vincent Healey (Carole) of Phoenix, AZ passed away in 2014. She is also survived by 24 nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, September 28th at the Ponkapoag Civic Assoc, 17 Greenbriar Rd, Canton, MA, from 4 - 8 pm.

Tim and family,
It was many years ago, in the 80's, when I met Tim and Patti in Chetwynd. I was a new teacher who had just arrived from Nova Scotia. I have never forgotten the kind words of support and love that I received from you both.

Tim, Sarah and Ben I was sorry to hear of Patricia's passing and I know she will be missed. Your family was so kind to Mom and Dad over the many years in the wonderful neigbourhood you lived in, but the comfort that you may find is she is not in any pain now.

Manon and I want to say how sorry we were to have heard of Pattis passing. It was a shock. We had hoped that she would respond well to treatment. Our thoughts are with you all. We will be making a donation to the library in her honour.

Patti and I grew up together as kids in Canton, MA, and in my heart she will always be the sweetest friend, the little buddy with blond braids. We went our separate ways after high school, though we both ended up in Canada, me for several years in Halifax and she for a lifetime. I caught up on occasional news through mutual friends, and trust her life was as happy as she deserved it to be. To her family, please accept our sincere condolences and know that you shared your lives with a lovely girl - Patti was truly special!
