Paul Hearn Obituary

Paul F. Hearn 57

Worcester - Paul F. Hearn, 57, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 with his sisters gathered at his bedside after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Paul is survived by his three sisters, Karen E. Hearn, Lynda F. Cote, Susan Pressey and her husband George. He also leaves a brother in law, Donald Casey Sr. and sister in law Jane Hearn; his longtime childhood friend Attorney Donald Peters; his longtime companion and best friend his dog, Rascal; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A brother, James J. Hearn, Jr., sister, Patricia A. Casey and nephew, James J. Hearn, III all predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, one of six children of James J. Hearn, Sr. and Janet A. (Lemoine) Hearn. He graduated from North High School, where he played football and joined the U.S. Navy, serving his country proudly during the Persian Gulf War. Upon his return from active duty, Paul accepted a position with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, IBEW, local 96, where he worked many years for various electrical contractors in the area, including Coughlin and Ostrow Electrical Companies.

A non-assuming, simple man Paul was a Harley Davidson enthusiast, enjoyed skydiving, football, cars especially corvettes and hockey. He had a sense of humor that would put all people at ease when he entered the room.

Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours, Saturday, February 4th from 9:30 am to 11:00 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St, followed by his celebration of life service. I had the pleasure of growing up directly across the street from Paul. From as far back as I can remember Paul was always up for a game of Risk, a ride on our bikes or simply exploring the woods behind his house. He was a loyal friend, my prayers for his family, he will be truly missed. Warmest Regards...

My sincere condolences to the Hearn family on the loss of Paul. Paul and I had a lot of good times hanging out on Grafton Hill, what seems like a lifetime ago. But good people are never forgotten. Paul was the best. May God speed his soul.

When the Peters family lived on Dallas St ,Paul was like a member of our family. Where we took Don ,Paul was with us .To the beach,Boy Scout camp and just to get ice cream. The Hearn family faced a lot of sorrow.Don had me speak to Paul on several occasions .The last time we spoke I told Paul I was sorry he did not have a father when.he was young. As sick as he was,he said to me that I was his father. My wife have cried just to rember his smiling face. All my children are very saddened by his passing.
