Pauline Steinberg Obituary

Pauline F. (Kershaw) Steinberg, 83, of Manchester, NH and formerly of Shrewsbury, died Thursday, January 8th in the Elliot Hospital, Manchester.

Her husband of 51 years, Henry R. Steinberg died in 1995.

She leaves her two children, Paula M. Baker of Goffstown, NH and Robert L. Steinberg of Woodbridge, VA; her sister, Carol A. Billings of Shrewsbury, MA; her grandchildren, Michael R. and Jeffrey Baker, Joseph & Marybeth Steinberg, and Sean, Christopher, Matthew and David Young; a great grandson, Jack Henry Baker; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Francis C. Kershaw.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William J. and Ina E. (Joubert) Kershaw and lived many years in Shrewsbury before moving to Manchester 2 years ago. She graduated from Major Howard Beal High School, Shrewsbury, and served as a reunion committee member for her class.

Mrs. Steinberg began her career as an administrative assistant in the trust department of the former Worcester County National Bank. She then went on to become a legal secretary for several years. Mrs. Steinberg then became the legislative aide to James Whitney, worked at the stat house for several years. She returned to Worcester as a secretary for the office of Bernard J. Conlin, Esq.

She was a former member of Saint Mary's parish in Shrewsbury, enjoyed painting and crafts and quilting. She also was and avid genealogist.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Pauline on Monday, January 12th from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA. Her funeral will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13th with a Mass at 11:30 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain view Cemetery.

Dear Paula and Bob

Im so sorry to hear of Pollys passing....we will be having a Mass said for her on Feb 23rd here at the Carmelite Monastery in San Diego....

Im so happy that I was able to have correspond by letter and email these last few years....

Its been a real pleasure to have known her .... her letters were always sweet and kind....

So sorry to hear of the death of your mother ....The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow...
I have so many good memories of she and Daff....both from Hampton and the Every Sunday Night Pizza party at your home in Shrewsbury.......your Mom was always ready to listen to all of us....and give sound advice during our "formative years"...and beyond...
