Peter E. Michelson, 73

SUTTON - Peter E. Michelson, 73, passed away Monday, August 27th at home after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Peter was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Gloria R. (Brunett) Michelson last year and his parents, Elmer H. and Carolyn L. (Putnam) Michelson. He leaves his five children, Jon D. Michelson of Northbridge, James P. and his wife Anne Michelson of Worcester, Mary M. Michelson of Linwood, Peter J. and his wife Renee Michelson of Worcester and Kevin E. and his wife Tracie Michelson of Spring Hill, TN; six grandchildren, Alyssa D. of Spencer, Ryan A. of Northbridge, Brittney R. of Whitinsville, Hannah K. of Worcester, Austin and Zachary both of Spring Hill, TN; his brother, Michael and his wife Donna Michelson of Sutton, nieces and nephews.

Peter was born in Worcester and lived in Sutton most of his life. He was a member of Teamsters Local 170 and worked as a truck driver until retiring in 1999. He was a member of the Singletary Rod & Gun Club in Oxford, friend of the Dudley Gendron Post in Sutton, past member of the Worcester Surfcaster Club, 32nd Degree Mason of the Olive Branch Lodge AF & AM, where he was a Master Member for 45 years, Shriners International-Aleppo Shriners, Wilmington, MA, Aletheia Grotto, Scottish Rite-Lodge Council Chapter & Consistory, Sword of Bunker Hill-Gaspee Order #99, AASR Northern Masonic Jurisdiction USA 32nd Degree, National Rifle Association of America, Blackpatch Muzzle Loaders, charter member of the Weary Travelers Club and the One More Club.

The family would like to thank the Jewish Health Hospice Care Center for their support and excellent care.

Visiting hours for Peter will be held on Friday, August 1st from 9:00 to 11:00 am at LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St., Worcester. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 am at Pigeon Hill Cemetery, Sutton. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
