Peter D. Wright, 70

JEFFERSON - Peter D. Wright, 70 years old, passed away peacefully at home June 27, 2017. He leaves his wife and best friend Cynthia A. (Valentine). Peter and Cindy would have celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on July 25th. He leaves a son Jeffery Wright and his wife, Cheryl of Fitchburg, a daughter, Tammy Wright of Pepperell and her children, Colin and Julia, a sister, Pamela Burnett of Sacramento, CA, brothers Paul Simpson of Keene, NH, Bruce Simpson and his wife, Ying, of Dublin, NH, Shawn Cleary of Ashby, an aunt and uncle, Helen and Angelo Seretto, of Leominster, a cousin Michael Seretto, who was like a brother to Peter, and his wife, Diane, of Leominster, and several cousins, nieces and a nephews.

Peter was born in Fitchburg on November 26, 1946, the son of David Wright and Carolyn (Seretto) Watson. He graduated from Ashby High School and received an Associates Degree in Drafting Engineering from Mt. Wachusett Community College. He served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1971 where he was an air defense acquisition radar maintenance/radio mechanic.

Peter worked for Verizon as an equipment installer for 26 years until retiring in 2003. Recently he worked part-time for Prime Toyota in Lancaster. He also had worked for Sweet Life Foods and Digital Equipment Corp. Peter had been a member of North County Street Rods, National Street Rod Association, Right Coast Association and Corvettes United.

Peter's passions were his five kitties, his muscle cars and street rods which he enjoyed working on and attending local events as well as driving to shows in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Vermont. He also enjoyed camping for the last 14 years in Seabrook, NH where he met a wonderful group of people that had become great friends. Peter was also a talented artist.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 5th from 5-7 pm at the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 6th at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster.
