Priscilla Colby Obituary

Priscilla H. Colby, 86, wife of John F. Colby, long time resident of Whitinsville, MA, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at her home after a long illness. While in Whitinsville, she was an active member of the Northbridge Center Congregational Church. At that church she served many years as a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Whitinsville Garden Club and Whitinsville Women's Club.

Besides her husband of 66 years, she is survived by one daughter, Florence Colby Mathieson and her husband John of Rockland; one son, John S. Colby and his wife Susan of Worcester, MA; one sister, Janice Bergeron of Colebrook, NH; one brother, Wilson Holden and his wife Rhoda of FL; four grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Teresa Anderson, Gina and George Hendricks, all of Northbridge, MA, Ryan and Melissa Colby of Providence, RI, Reagen Colby Brown and her husband Colin of Winston – Salem, NC; six great-grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Katelyn, Hannah, Colby and Riley; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Burpee, Carpenter & Hutchins Funeral Home, 110 Limerock Street, Rockland. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Area Interfaith Outreach Food Pantry, P.O. Box 113, Rockland, ME 04841.
