Richard F. Cabana

Richard F. Cabana, 70, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4th, in St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by his family, nieces, nephews, and close friend Andrew Collelo, after an illness.

Richard leaves three brothers, Clarence Cabana of Auburn, Donald Cabana of Worcester, and Allen Cabana of California; and a sister, Rita Sulik of Woodstown, NJ; many nieces and nephews, and his close friends in addition to Andrew of Charlton, Richard Foley of Boston and Guy Henry of Charlton. He was predeceased by his brothers Alfred, Harold, William, Robert, and his sister, Lillian Smith.

He graduated from Commerce High School, Worcester. He spent 4 years serving in the US Navy. Richard lived for 4 years in Boston, where he worked for several years at the Deaconess Hospital before returning to the Worcester area, where he worked for UMass Medical Center. He enjoyed listening to classical music, and was an accomplished pianist.

Richard donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Program of UMass Medical School, Worcester. The family and friends would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors and nursing staff of St. Vincent Hospital ICU for their excellent care while there.

The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home of Auburn is assisting the family with the arrangements.
