WORCESTER - Richard E. "Dick" Feeley, 89 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Worcester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family.

Dick is survived by his wife of 66 years, Grace C. (Tarallo) Feeley; three sons, Richard E. Feeley, Jr. of West Boylston, Stephen J. Feeley and his wife Mary of West Boylston and James A. Feeley and his wife Rosemarie of Worcester; three brothers, James Feeley of Cape Cod, Paul Feeley of Worcester and Joseph Feeley of North Grafton; three sisters, Rita Stencel of Millbury, Ruth Walsh of Milford, CT and Patricia East of Florida; seven grandchildren, Cheryl L. Feeley, Andrew R. Feeley and his wife Emily Hollocher all of Worcester, Matthew S. Feeley and his wife Valerie of Marlborough, Meghan M. Townsend and her husband Sean of Auburn, Michael A. Feeley of Ayer, James A. Feeley, Jr. and his wife Allysen of Northborough and Jason Feeley of Fort Myers, FL; two great grandchildren, Lucas J Feeley and Madelyn Grace Feeley; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, John, Harold and Wilfred Feeley; three sisters, Helen Arrouquier, Mary Henning, and Kay Phelan.

Dick was born in Worcester, one of thirteen children of the late James E. and Catherine R. (Erb) Feeley and has lived here all of his life. He graduated from North High School and later enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country during WWII. Upon returning home, he graduated from New England School of Accounting with an associate's degree. Dick was the owner/operator of several area businesses including Feeley's Fence Company, Johnson's TV and Appliances, Feeley's TV and Appliances and Lincoln Plaza Furniture. He later worked in sales for various companies in Worcester County. He finished his career with the City of Worcester operating the City Hall's Mail Room. Bored with retirement, he drove a taxi for the Red Cab until he was 81 years old. Dick was a member of Saint Joan of Arc Church; he loved New England Sports Teams, dancing, and in his son Richard's younger days he managed his son's rock band.

Services for Dick will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 am in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 21th from 8:30-10:00 a.m. in the funeral home prior to his funeral Mass.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Worcester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the loving care provided in his final five years. Dick Feeley (along with Grace)will always be remembered gratefully for the unselfish giving of time and energy to manage and guide a group of budding musicians into adulthood (not an easy task, but one in which he succeeded). Thank you for everything. My sympathies go out to his family. Rich L.

My sincere sympathy to the entire family. I can picture him smiling and keeping to the beat at all the activities that had anything to do with music at the rest home. My husband was a resident there. May Richard R.I.P.

Grace and family.... So sorry to hear of Dicks passing... We worked together at City Hall, in fact, he taught me his job in the mailroom, where I worked for 16 yrs, after Dick retired... I used to tell him,,,,"Don't tell me what I shouldn't do, only what I should do"... We had more laughs learning/teaching the ropes of the mail room, which was unusual for Dick, as he was pretty much on the serious side.. Sure do miss the good old days.. Keep the faith and think of all the memories you have with each other. That's what I'm doing, Charlie passed 2 yrs ago. God bless....
