Richard Talbert Obituary
Worcester - Richard D. Talbert, 72, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 29, 2020.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of Saul and Thelma (Lement) Talbert. After attending Mashpee Prep on the Cape and Bryant College, Richard returned to his hometown and the family business.
After working at Talbert Corp. in Worcester and at Beacon Wiper in Chelsea, Richard founded and operated "Shaky Jake's Vagabond Vendor", a fixture on Highland Street for decades.
Richard will be lovingly missed and remembered by his sister, Margery (Talbert) and her husband Stan Aurell of Millbury; predeceased by his niece Samantha Mietla, he will always be remembered by his nephews Ben Mantyla and his wife, Emily, Joshua Mantyla and Nathan Mantyla; and many cherished grandnieces and grandnephews. He will also by missed his close friend of many years, Greg Jones.
Friends are invited to join the family Saturday April 10th at Ralph's from 2 to 4 when we celebrate Richard's life. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home of Holden.
Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Rick and I met at Cape Cod Preparatory School in Mashpee, Ma. my Jr year/his Sr. Year. We did become friends. We lost touch after that. I admired Rick. In fact from the Headmaster and Assistant Headmaster to all of the students and faculty there were only friends and admirers of this young man. I´d love to know more of his life story.

Condolences to the Talbert family on Rich´s passing. A pioneer in the vintage clothing industry and one suave dude. Anyone from those hip halcyon days of yore knew where to shop and that was at Shaky Jakes. Peace and Loving memories to those Rich leaves behind.
