Rita Redding Obituary
Northbridge - Rita E. (Malboeuf) Redding, 97, died on Tues. Dec. 6, 2016 at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster where she had been a resident the past 5 years.
She is predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Henry Redding in 1978. She is survived by her daughter Virginia Quigley of Arlington, TX; 2 sons Gary Redding and his wife Bonnie of Whitinsville and George Redding of Webster; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Redding and his wife Jill, Karen Tremblay and her husband David, Kathy Kent and her husband Ronald all of Whitinsville, Kathy Breen and her husband James of Ft. Worth, TX, Cynthia Hardie and her husband Spencer, and Margaret Murphy and her companion Brian both of Arlington, TX; 17 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by 2 sons Roy Redding and Walter Redding, a granddaughter Tina Hudson, 2 brothers Norman and George, and 3 sisters Alice, Loretta, and Irene.
Born in Webster on Jan. 11, 1919 she was the daughter of Osias and Albina (Mailhot) Malboeuf and was a graduate of Northbridge High School, Class of 1937. She worked at the former Kartaganah Hat Shop in Upton and at Bernat Yarns in Uxbridge many years. She enjoyed trips to the ocean, especially Newport, Bingo, and occasional trips to the casino. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Her funeral will be held from Tancrell-Jackman Funeral Home, 35 Snowling Rd., Uxbridge on Sat. Dec.10 with a Mass at 11 am in St. Mary's Church, 71 Mendon St., Uxbridge. Burial will follow in St. Mary's cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Sat.
