Robert Garceau Obituary
Bob was born in Fitchburg August 26, 1942, the son of Arthur and Jennie (Cordio) Garceau and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1960. Bob was employed for 25 years at the former G.E. General Electric plant in Fitchburg. Before that time he worked for Grossman's Lumber Co. He was a member of the International Union of Electrical workers (IUE) and served as Union Steward. Bob was a marching member of the St. Joseph's Cadets Drum & Bugle Corps and was associated with the Kingsmen Drum & Bugle Corps. Bob loved antique and classic cars and was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially boxing and all Boston sports teams. He played basketball in high school. Bob had a great sense of humor.
Bob leaves his son, Robert L. Garceau, Jr. of Leominster; his daughters, Pamela S. Dewey and her husband Craig of Leominster, Patricia J.Garceau Tavares and her husband Tony of Winchendon and Paula M. LeBoeuf and her husband James of Dracut; his brothers, Arthur J. Garceau, Jr. of Lawrence and Louis Garceau of Quincy and eleven grandchildren.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 from 4P.M. to 7P.M. in the Bosk Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police, c/o the Fitchburg Police Department.
