Robert J. McGovern

Robert J. McGovern, 49, of Boylston passed away Friday, January 13, 2012. He leaves three children, Julia E., Shaun C. and Patrick W. all of Hopkinton; his mother, Joan M. (Lannan) McGovern of Boylston; four siblings, Mary L. McDonald and her husband Thomas D. of Hudson, Ann M. Guerard and her companion Paul Dansereau of Charlton, Brian F. McGovern and his wife Ellen J. of Shrewsbury and Maureen F. Sawyer and her husband Robert of Hudson; 14 nieces and nephews and 3 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews. A brother, William F. McGovern, III and a sister, Ellen M. McGovern predeceased him. He was born in Concord, NH son of the late, William F. McGovern, Jr. and graduated from St. John's High School and Wentworth School of Technology. He served two years in the U.S. Army and three years in the Army Reserve.

Bob enjoyed being with his family and friends, most of all he loved his children and the time he spent with them. He was a supervisor and engineer in construction for several years. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing.

Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, January 18 from 5 to 8 PM in St. Mary of the Hills Church, 630 Cross St. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 19 at 10 AM in the Church. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
