Robert Piechocki Obituary
WEBSTER - Robert A. "Rob" Piechocki, Sr., 44, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 in Wachusett Extended Care after a long struggle with A.L.S.
He leaves his mother, Barbara J. (Bergner) Piechocki of Webster; his son, Robert A. Piechocki, Jr. of Thompson, CT; 2 sisters, Theresa P. & her husband Joseph Mailloux of Webster and Katherine L. & her husband Robert Browning, III of Holden; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Joseph, Nathan, Jacob, Zachary, Evan, Caitlin & Garrett; a great niece, Jaelynn; his wife, Jennifer L. (Benson) Piechocki of Thompson, CT; a step-daughter, Isabella Sarette of Thompson, CT; a sister, Mary Jane & her husband Steven Moran of Gray, Maine; a brother, Michael R. & his wife Jean Piechocki of Blackstone. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph H. "Joey" Piechocki who died in 1975.
He was born and raised in Webster, a son of Richard M. Piechocki. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1986 and from Worcester Vocational Technical School in 1988 with a diploma in welding.
Mr. Piechocki worked as a welder for the Boston-Worcester Local Union #51 for many years retiring due to illness in 1998. He was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica and of the Boston-Worcester Local #51. He enjoyed fishing, video games and especially the time spent with his son Robbie. The family would like to thank the staff at Wachusett Care Facility for the compassionate care that was given to Rob during his illness.
The funeral will be held Thursday, February 14 with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Please meet at the church. Burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Wachusett Extended Care Facility, Activities Dept., Attn: Leah Soriano, 56 Boyden Road, Holden, MA 01520. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St.

Thoughts and prayers for your family. I went to St. Joseph's Elementary school with Rob and Bartlett High School with him. We graduated together. I remember him fondly. He will be missed and now is in Heaven watching over you all.

The one thing I will always remember about Rob is sitting outside looking at the stars one night, and him commenting on how much he loved just to stare out at them because the bright ones reminded him of all the people that had passed on before him, and he said "some day one of those stars will be me looking down at those I have loved and left behind" So, if you ever look up on a bright night and see a star twinkle that will be Rob, just know he's there. My sincere sympathy to his whole family.
