Roger C. Salmon

Roger C. Salmon, 86, of High St., died Thurs. June 18, 2009 at home. He was the husband of the late Shirley L. (Herbst) Salmon for 57 years who died in Jan. 2009.

He was born in Worcester on April 4, 1923 the son of the late Arthur and Yvonne (Berger) Salmon and attended Uxbridge schools and later graduated from Wentworth Institute.

A lifelong resident of Uxbridge, he owned and operated Roger C. Salmon Electric. He previously worked for the former Charles Clarke Electric and the former Coghlin Bros.

He spent 26 years on the Uxbridge Fire Department attaining the rank of Deputy Chief and later was a dispatcher for the Uxbridge Police and Fire Departments. He was a member of the Uxbridge VFW Post #1385 and the Uxbridge Rod and Gun Club. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his daughter, Candace L. Salmon of Uxbridge.

Funeral services will be Mon. June 22, 2009 at 11 AM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 N. Main St., (Rte. 122) Uxbridge. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Uxbridge. Visiting hours will Mon. from 10 – 11 AM prior to the funeral service in the funeral home.
