Ronald Dupont Obituary

Ronald L. Dupont, 64

WORCESTER - Ronald L. Dupont passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center with his family at his side.

Ron is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jane A. (Croteau) Dupont of Worcester, their three children, Ronald E. Dupont, Dr. Julie A. Dupont-Woody and her husband Dr. Nathaniel Woody, and Andrew C. Dupont and his fiancée Sarah Ayaz. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughter Fionna A. Woody.

Mr. Dupont was born in Holyoke, the son of the late Edmond and Doris Dupont. He is also survived by his brothers, Edmond H. Dupont and Raymond Dupont, and his sisters Rosalie Leo, Irene Stark and Linda Gordon. Ron was especially grateful to his sister Linda who gave him the remarkable gift of a kidney, 15 years ago.

Mr. Dupont was a graduate of Assumption College and later earned a master's degree in Political Science from Boston College.

Mr. Dupont was the owner of Park Avenue Printers (Park Print) of Worcester, MA, a company he started in 1979 and built into a successful business working alongside his wife.

He was also an officer and past president of the Worcester County Craftsman's Club and the recipient of the Craftsman of the Year award.

Running the family business was Ron's passion. He firmly believed in helping others and being a resource for his customers. He did business with honesty and integrity and had many years of loyal customers as a result.

The family would like to thank all of the staff at the UMass-Memorial Medical Center, with particular thanks to Dr. Cerny and Gina for their amazing care.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of calling hours, the family would like to invite all family, friends and customers of Park Print to gather on Sunday, August 31st for a celebration and remembrance of Ron's life at Peppercorns, 455 Park Avenue, Worcester from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the UMass Memorial Foundation Inc. or donations may be made to Julie Dupont-Woody's fundraising team for the 16th Annual UMass Medicine Cancer Walk and 5K on September 28, 2014.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
